Empowering Youth, Transforming Lives
about us
From Adversity to Opportunity
Our Story
IYP Prosper Initiative Inc. was founded with a deep commitment to combat youth homelessness and poverty. Recognizing the immense challenges that homeless youth face, we set out to create a space where they can find not just shelter, but also the support, guidance, and opportunities they need to thrive.
At the heart of our mission is the L-E-A-D A P-A-C framework—Love of God, Education, Appreciation, Dedication/Determination, Adoration, Preparation, Annihilation, and Cooperation. This holistic approach empowers youth to build a foundation for success, helping them grow spiritually, academically, and personally. Our programs are designed to equip them with the tools to break free from the cycle of poverty and lead fulfilling lives.
Our journey has been one of faith and transformation. With the support of our dedicated volunteers, donors, and community partners, we have been able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of countless young people. We remain committed to our vision of creating a world where every youth has the chance to prosper and achieve their full potential.

Board of Director
Sharan Coleman
Founder & Director
Sharan is currently the Co-Founder, along with her husband of IYP Prosper Initiative Inc., founded in 2012. Prior to her current position as the Executive Director of the nonprofit, she worked with several corporations as a legal and business consultant. She served several small businesses as a private business consultant, where she helped micro and small business owners discover the purpose for their business, develop their natural skills and talents and build their entrepreneurial skills to run their business effectively.
Prior to working as a private business consultant, Sharan worked in the Alumni Association office of Georgia State University, where she planned and coordinated alumni fundraising events. She also served on several recruiting committees and as a member of the University Staff Council.
She was a founding organizational member of the Henry County Georgia branch of the NAACP. In that capacity, She worked to set up the branch office and recruit the requisite minimum number of Henry County residents, to form the first branch chapter.
It was her love for God, and her love and passion for developing youth, that changed her course from for profit to nonprofit work. Her greatest joy is seeing how troubled youth has transformed into incredible productive adult citizens.
Sharan has an Associates degree in Business Management from the University of Toledo, a BA from St. Leo University, and a JD from John Marshall Law School. She currently lives in Stockbridge Georgia with her husband Lloyd Coleman. They have three adult children, Jason (Amie), Elouise, (Terry) and Tamara (Aaron), and five grandchildren, (Andrew, Amani & Jaden, Tatum and Aaron Jr).
